Paraguay police confirmed that they had officially arrested Barcelona striker and former Brazil national team, Ronaldinho Gaucho, for trying to enter the territory of the country with a false passport, after investigation.
"Ronaldinho and his brother were seized only hours after the judge refused to agree to a proposal to impose an alternative sentence on the retired player, after admitting guilt," said Paraguay police chief Gilberto Fleetas, Paraguay police chief.
He added, "The arrest warrant has been implemented."
"We don't know under what authority the arrest was made," said the brothers' lawyer, Adolfo Marin.
