Yesterday, the Norwegian ski association announced that Ingvild Flugstad Östberg that the season is over. In a press release, Flugstad Östberg herself said that she received a fracture after she took a shortcut and jumped down a ledge and landed on a concrete floor.

"Demanding sport"

She also tells Norwegian media that an overload for a long time is behind the injury. The 29-year-old missed the start of the season because she did not meet all the requirements of the ski association's health declaration.

- But it is important to point out that from the Tour de Ski onwards, my health certificate has been 100 percent. I have had a very good follow-up with the health team, ”says Ingvild Flugstad Östberg to NRK.

- Cross-country skiing is a demanding sport. During certain periods it is difficult to find the right balance between exercise and rest. You have to push boundaries. But we must remember to do it with health. It has been my and others' focus this year.
