Sweden's football ladies get a very tough start to the Algarve Cup when they meet Germany. It's a bit of a fate match as a loss tonight would mean you can't reach the final.

You can still go into the match with high confidence, but broke a 24 year curse when they beat the Germans at the World Cup this summer.

- It was above all our counter-game that was very vicious. We were very direct when we won the ball. It's the kind of football you have to play against all world nations and we hope to be able to do that today, says Gerhardsson.

One thing that worries the league captain somewhat is that it is the preseason in damallsvenskan where 13 of the players belong.

- What is the problem for us is that the Swedish players have not started and did not start playing series matches. We are lagging behind in that phase with some players, but in the Algarve we have performed well against good nations.

However, the damage situation is positive. Lina Hurtig is the only one who is not selectable against Germany.

- We look at the physical load and what has been positive is that everyone has looked very good and that means that the conditions for taking out a very good team are almost perfect.

The match will be broadcast at 17.20 in SVT1 and on SVT Play.
