While Falk has fought back after a back surgery last fall, her teammates have impressed in the World Cup. Not least in sprint, where 20-year-old sensation Linn Svahn has taken everyone by storm and rushed into the lead in the overall sprint cup before Slovenian Anamarija Lampic and Jonna Sundling.

- It's been very fun and inspiring to see her break through, says Hanna Falk.

- She has been running really well all winter, and really the whole Swedish sprint team, with Jonna too, has had a superb season. It is fun to follow and you know you hold a high level if you are out there driving, it lifts us all up.

"Be damned"

Svanna's winning skull has also been noted by Hanna Falk. After missing the final in Trondheim's sprint during the Ski Tour, Svahn was so disappointed that she drew the stick in a training cycle and threw her cellphone in the snow, which led to criticism from the national team management.

- It is a sign of a winner's skull but you must not throw things. Let's talk to Linn about it. There are a lot of emotions but then they have to be tamed, national team manager Lars Selin told Aftonbladet.

Falk recognizes himself in Svahn's winning skull. She thinks that you have to show emotions when things go bad.

- Yes, but I think so. I was the same when I was 20 and broke through. Then I was pissed at one and the other, says Falk, laughing.

"Unreal"

The 30-year-old sprint specialist is back in the World Cup himself after months of rehabilitation.

She made a comeback at a competition in Lycksele in mid-February, where victory was straight in the sprint, and enjoys getting started on Wednesday's classic-style sprint in Norwegian Drammen after not really planning any participation in the World Cup this season. .

- It feels a bit unreal actually. It is a big step on the road to just being back on the starting line. I am very proud that I have come so far already, says Falk.

Her most recent World Cup competition was in Falun almost a year ago.

The comeback in Lycksele went "above expectation" and Falk, who has run double Olympics and four World Cups for Sweden, is making progress every week.

- I hope you have taken another step and are still on the rise, says the 30-year-old.
