FIFA President Gianni Infantino has said that next March international matches will be under threat due to the Coruna virus, but he hopes the European Championships or Olympics will not be affected.

Six countries announced their first cases of the virus on Friday, and sports competitions had already been affected by the spread of the virus, and the Inter Milan match with Ludogorets was held at the San Siro stadium without the presence of fans in the European League on Thursday.

International matches, including European Championships qualifiers and friendly matches, will be held in the last week of March, and Infantino has not ruled out any possibility.

He told reporters, "I do not rule out anything at the moment. I hope we will never follow this trend and it will be difficult to stop competitions globally because the situation is different in every country."

"The health of people is much more important than any football match. Health is above everything, so we monitor the situation and hope that the virus will retreat instead of spreading. At the moment it seems that it is still spreading and if games should be postponed or held without an audience until the danger ends, then we will do so ".

The 2020 European Championships begin on June 12 and include an unprecedented number of international transfers between 12 cities in 12 different countries on the continent.

"I think the tournament will take place on time. We should not panic, but we must seriously deal with the situation and follow the instructions of the authorities. We also hope to hold the Olympic Games as planned and to travel safely to Tokyo this summer," Infantino concluded.
