Minnesota then continued the goalscale - just over half a minute later, teammate Jared Spurgeon scored 2-0. In the second period, Jonas Brodin played until the 4–0 goal, before teammate Kevin Fiala decided with his 5–0 goal in the third period.

Minnesota has now won its last three games with the difference of 17-5. The team is struggling to tie a wild card to the playoffs and is currently one point behind Nashville and Winnipeg in the battle for wild card number two in the Western Conference.

Columbus, for its part, currently has a wild card in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of the New York Rangers and Carolina.

Rangers victory suite broken

After a nine-game winning streak, Rangers beat Philadelphia by 2-5. There, too, the goal scorer was started by a Swedish. Rangers Jesper Fast received a long pass from the defensive line and was able to enter the goal line already in the third match.
But then it was fun for the New York team. Philadelphia scored four straight goals before the Rangers got a reduction in the final game minute. It is Philadelphia's fifth straight victory and the team is in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
