“After receiving the protest, the appeal jury reviewed the whole situation. Taking into account the visual materials, as well as the testimony, the jury decided to accept the protest and leave the results of the race, which were recorded at the finish line, ”the organization said in a statement on Twitter.
The Norwegian team, thus, took third place. The national team of Belarus remained in the fourth.
Earlier, IBU excluded the Norwegian national team from the final protocol of the mixed relay at the European Biathlon Championships in Belarusian Raubichi after the fourth place national team of Belarus filed a protest against the result of the third-placed Norwegians.
The Norwegian national team subsequently appealed the decision.
