Alexander Loginov and his personal trainer Aleksandr Kasperovich have decided to take legal action against the International Biathlon Association, IBU, following the doping raid conducted by the Italian police against the Russians during the World Cup, reports Russian news agency Tass.

Kasperovich claims that IBU's anti-doping officer, Sarah Fussek-Hakkarainen, ordered the raid and it is her who the Russians are now giving up.

- We plan to sue the person who ordered the proposal, and we are talking about Sarah Fussek here. The lawsuit will be sent in with the request for both financial and moral compensation, he tells the news agency.

Blame on IBU

Niklas Carlsson, secretary general of the International Archery Association, has told SVT Sport, contrary to what Kasperovich thinks, that the International Archery Association did not order the raid at all.

The strike against the Russian team took place during the early hours of Saturday morning, February 22, and concerned "the use or distribution of doping preparations" and in Kasperovich's case an invalid accreditation.

Just days before the event, Loginov won the World Cup gold in the sprint and a bronze money in the ensuing chase before he later chose to withdraw from the championship's final discipline, the mass start, because of all the agitation against him.
