Arne Slot expects AZ to get tough on Thursday during the return against LASK in the Europa League. The coach of the Alkmaarders thinks that the Austrian opponent will play differently than in the first game.

Last week, LASK played less offensive in the AFAS Stadium than Slot expected. The visitors traveled back to Austria with a 1-1 draw.

"They were only dangerous in standard situations, while they normally create a lot of opportunities. Normally they also put pressure on you for ninety minutes. If you don't pay attention, you get a goal against that," Slot said to the AD on Wednesday.

In that respect, the AZ coach is happy to have midfielder Fredrik Midtsjø again. The Norwegian had to miss the first confrontation with LASK due to a suspension.

"The fact that he is there now is very important. He is specifically good at two things: winning the second ball and he can turn freely in midfield, which means we can put pressure forward."

LASK-AZ starts on Thursday at 6.55 p.m. More than two hours later Ajax, the other Dutch club in the Europa League, will try to get rid of the 2-0 defeat in the first match against Getafe at home.
