Debutant Rebecca Öhrn, who competes for IFK Umeå, makes her debut in the World Cup this weekend. It announced the union in a press release on Tuesday. She got the happy news on Monday afternoon.

- It feels great fun, it was a goal I had so it was fun to be selected, says Rebecca Öhrn to SVT Sport.

Surprised by the message

It was not entirely expected that it would be time for the World Cup debut this weekend.

- At first I was asked a little, I did not think I would be taken out, she says.

Before the World Cup competitions in Falun, she had contact with the national team and was told that she was close to being selected. Then she competed in Lycksele in mid-February and won that mini-tour - and it was competitions that prayed to be selected. But the talk that she would compete in Lahti came a little more than a week later.

- They did not call immediately afterwards, so I thought it would be nothing, she says.

"Strong, driven and focused"

For most people at home on the TV couch, it becomes a new acquaintance when Öhrn sets off in the ski tracks. She gets to do it in one of her favorite distances, 10 kilometers, and describes herself as a strong rider.

- I am strong, very driven and focused on what I should do and do not give up in the first place, she says.
