Baptiste Reynet, the TFC goalkeeper, before the Ligue 1 match against Olympique de Marseille, November 24, 2019. - Nicolas Stival / 20 Minutes

At the heart of a season in hell, the TFC, last in Ligue 1, offered itself a psychodrama during the winter transfer window: the arrival of a new goalkeeper, the Croatian Lovre Kalinic (on loan from the English of Aston Villa), while the incumbent, Baptiste Reynet, had just been appointed acting captain.

More than a month later, Reynet emerged from silence in a long interview with the weekly France Football . "I took it as a kind of betrayal, as if a knife was being stuck in my back," explains the former Dijonnais. He said he learned the news from a friend who sent him an article from a club news site, LesViolets.com.

Kalinic and Zanko spared

The 29-year-old doorman overwhelms neither Kalinic, "a really good guy", nor his coach Denis Zanko, to whom "we imposed another goalkeeper", even if the technician mentions "a collegial decision". Reynet indirectly targets its leaders, including President Olivier Sadran, behind the arrival of the Croatian.

"If I am prevented from playing, I will be obliged to draw the consequences," says the former international hopes, under contract until June 2022, about a possible departure this summer.

Again holder, then injured

Ironically, Reynet had recovered its starting position for at least a few weeks after Kalinic's injury on February 8 during the match in Marseille (1-0). But, hit in turn (hamstring), he did not keep the goals of the TFC, Saturday in Lille (3-0). It was the Uruguayan Mauro Goicoechea, now number 3 in the hierarchy, who officiated.
