“The Ministry of Sports of Russia became aware of the search that the Italian police conducted this morning at Alexander Loginov and his coach Alexander Kasperovich. The Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin instructed to urgently request from the Russian Biathlon Union all information about this incident and the circumstances that led to it, ”the text provided by the press service of the department said.
They were assured that they were in operational contact with the Russian Embassy in Italy and would closely monitor developments.
The Ministry of Sports also recalled the need to comply with the principle of the presumption of innocence. As follows from the release, the department intends to continue working to protect the rights of pure athletes.
The searches in the biathlon room of Alexander Loginov and Evgeny Garanichev became known on Saturday morning, February 22. Gadgets and other things were taken from athletes.
