At the home world championships in Östersund last year, Sweden took three medals, one of each denomination.

This year, things went much worse. Only on the final day of the championship came the only medal, Hanna Öberg's bronze in the mass start.

"I'm proud"

But Anders Byström, national team manager, was still satisfied when he summed up the championship.

- I'm proud of the team job we did this week, it's been a tough job. It's been tough days too, with Hannah's tears we manage to turn around. We show that we are a good biathlon nation. We are third overall in the national cup and six with the men, he told SVT Sport, and continued:

- We're there, but don't really have the tops on the men's side yet. But we're working on it.

18 missed shots today

On the gentlemen's side, the shooting has at times been swaying. In today's mass start, there were a total of 18 missed shots for the four gentlemen, and in yesterday's men's relay, the Swedish chances smoked already at the first shooting where Peppe Femling bombed five shots and forced two penalties. But they are defended by Anders Byström.

- We are happy with the guys shooting during the World Cup compared to earlier in the season.
