According to Charlotte Kalla, everyone at the meeting had the opportunity to express their views and speak. At the same time, she believes that there is no obvious answer.

- It is difficult to pinpoint an exact reason why it is the way it is.

What did you come up with at the meeting?

- That other nations have succeeded better. But we will continue to focus on ours, she says.

"More than normal"

This is not the first time the problems with the whale have been in focus during the season. Already after the sprint competitions in Oberstdorf at the end of January, a meeting between runners, skiers and leaders was held to clear the air with the hope of finding a way forward.

But the problems still have.

- It has really been more than usual this year, says Jonna Sundling.

Ebba Andersson came fourth in Thursday's long race in Meråker, but besides that, the Swedes were far from some top positions.

Not worried

This time too, the aftermath was largely about the material, where several were critical of the Swedish whaling team.

- It's sad that it's about what you have under your feet. My skis were very bad, I had to fight for every meter, says Jonna Sundling.

- It's very difficult. You feel that you have the powers, but something else stops you. But yes, the ramparts are doing their best. Sometimes we have succeeded and sometimes we have not, she continues.

Despite the problems, Charlotte Kalla says she is not worried about the future.

- No, she says.

Meeting also among the gentlemen

Even on the men's side, a meeting was held after the race. Teodor Peterson, 73rd in the Ski Tour overall, thinks it is not good that many riders feel that they have worse skis than competitors.

- This is not where we want to be, neither we nor the ball team. Then it can be interesting to hear their evaluation of it, Peterson says, pointing out that it is common for riders to evaluate the skis with the ridges.

According to Peterson, everyone in the skiing team needs to be more careful before each competition.

- It's somewhere you have to start. As recently as in Östersund (last week) I had among the best skis I've ever had at a competition. So it is not that knowledge does not exist, but it is important to succeed every time.

Among the men, Jens Burman, in 14th place, was most critical. Wall manager Anders Niemi addressed the criticism - but he also turned away parts of it.

- I have aligned with the guys and the others were happy. So we have to evaluate if Jens (Burman) chose the wrong ski, or what may have gone wrong. The Norwegians might have been a little better in the women's race, we were much like the others, Niemi told the media immediately after the race.

TT has been in contact with the acting longitudinal manager Ola Strömberg who does not want to comment on the criticism against the ball team, but instead refers to national team managers Lars Selin and Karin Ersson.

Ski Tour 2020 continues with sprint in Trondheim on Saturday.
