Max Verstappen immediately comes into action on Wednesday on the first day of the test week in Barcelona, it was announced on Tuesday. That means that the Dutchman of Red Bull Racing can try the new car first.
Verstappen will appear on the track on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with a break from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. His teammate Alexander Albon will be honoring Thursday and the two drivers will divide the available time on Friday.
On Friday morning the 22-year-old Verstappen runs laps in his Red Bull and in the afternoon it is the turn of the one-year-older Albon. In August 2019, the Thai took over the seat of the Austrian team from the Frenchman Pierre Gasly.
Next week there will be another test from Wednesday to Friday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the drivers are preparing for the first Grand Prix of the season (March 15 in Australia).
The schedule of those test days is not yet known. Last year the first two test weeks were from Tuesday to Friday, which means that the teams now have two days less to test the new car.
