Ski Tour 2020 makes a stop in Åre during Tuesday for a special sprint. But the event around the competition has met with a lot of criticism from voters. Among other things, several nations went on strike yesterday after being referred to a garage for walling.

Today, criticism continues to roll in.

Jostein Vinjeru is the United Kingdom captain and, to say the least, is not impressed with the conditions.

- This is shocking, it's the worst I've seen, he tells SVT Sport.

"Will there be bigger differences"

It is above all the smaller nations with less resources that have been affected.

- There will be bigger differences, it will be even harder for smaller nations to approach the big ones, he says.

Besides the conditions purely sporting, it has major consequences for the working environment of the ramparts.

- Standing here is bad from a health perspective, it's cold and bad air. For a shepherd who is already working long and heavy days, it is totally unacceptable, says Vinjeru.

Criticism also from Italy

Christian Zorzi is a shepherd for the Italian team and was also not happy to have a shed in a garage. After the strike, they were allocated a new space, but neither was it optimal.

- I'm not so happy with the new. We have to have the skis outdoors and also have no place to change, he says.
