On Monday afternoon, it became clear that Västerås BK 30 will take LB07's place in the Swedish Cup. The first round is already being played this weekend and when SVT Sport talked to Therese Sjögran, Rosengård's sports manager, in the morning they were still waiting for a message.

- It's a bit unfortunate, of course. It is about communication, marketing material and all such pieces. It feels like the message could have come earlier, she says.

Must have time to deliberate

Anna Forskdberg, head of events at the Swedish Football Association, understands the club's frustration but also believes that the association could not give a message about a new team faster.

- I think it would have been difficult given that we received the message from LB07 so late. Our competition committee, which decides whether to add the place, had a meeting in principle the day after. Then the associations that are asked must have a little time to deliberate on whether they have the opportunity to take the place or not, she says.

"Rather met LB07"

It was last week that LB07 announced that they are leaving their place both in the Elite and in the Swedish Cup due to poor club finances. For Rosengård in the Swedish Cup, it means a derby smaller and a lower ranked team in the group.

- Obviously we would rather have met LB07, it's a derby. This match we will get, will be worse sporting. But I really suffer with the players (LB07), they are the ones who get stuck, says Therese Sjögran.
