After the tough conditions on the dike in the sprint, where many of the favorites shot away, there were not as many booms in the 10 kilometer hunt. Then there was a huge duel between Marte Olsbu Röiseland, who went out first after the gold in the sprint, and home runner Dorothea Wierer who started just under 40 seconds behind the Norwegian.

But that distance she quickly caught on, and when Röiseland boomed in the first shootout, the Italian was in the back. And they were both followed all the way to the fourth shooter, but there it was to be decided. Because when Röiseland shot two bombs, it didn't matter that Wierer bombed one, because with her fine form in the tracks no one could threaten her, and she went for a safe gold medal at home in Antholz.

Behind Wierer there was a fight for the silver when Denise Herrman shot quickly and only one boom. Then she went out for just under a second behind Röiseland, and with Herrman's fast skiing there was never any talk of the matter. After waiting out Röiseland, she stepped past with hundreds of meters left, and quickly created a large gap.
