Press reports stated yesterday that Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahly Club decided to dismiss Swiss coach Christian Gross from his position and assign National Coach Mazen Bahkali the mission.
According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the management of the Saudi Al-Ahly Club, headed by Abdul-Ilah Moamena, took the decision to overthrow Gros due to the retreat of the team's results in the current season, especially after the loss to Al-Wahda and avoiding competition for the top of the table of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Cup in the professional league.
According to Asharq Al-Awsat, Gross did not travel with Al-Ahly last Saturday to Kuwait, in preparation for facing Iranian independence today in the second round of the first group matches of the AFC Champions League.
He is due to lead Al-Ahly in his Asian match today.
