It looks to be Elfyn Evans' rally weekend. Everything has gone the way of the British. He took command of the first leg on Friday, gradually extending the lead throughout the rest of the day to shine with three straight stretches on Saturday morning.

- I try to choose the cleanest line possible, says Evans in the finish.

He now leads with 16.9 seconds ahead of main challenger Ott Tänak and 28.0 seconds ahead of third Kalle Rovanperä.

When the rally management also deletes the first Likenäs stretch on Sunday morning, competitors are deprived of one of their chances of chasing the British. Now there is only a short sprint distance in Torsby and the final stretch in Likenäs on Sunday morning.

Other rally victories

If Evans can stay on the road and not lose pace, he has good chances to collect his second rally victory in his career. The first arrived at home in the Welsh Rally 2017.

But Evans has in fresh memory what happened in Monte Carlo in January. He led for the final day but was chased by both Neuville and Ogier and finished third. But then the margins were significantly smaller.

Oliver Solberg is best Swedish after seven stretches 0.8 seconds ahead of Johan Kristoffersson who in turn is 3.4 seconds ahead of Pontus Tidemand.

The day ends with a sprint to the service site in Torsby.
