According to boxer attorney Alexander Degterev, who reports to TASS, Kushitashvili has been charged with beating an employee of the Russian Guard and possession of drugs (arts. 318 and 228 of the Russian Criminal Code).
“George’s status is already the defendant in the case,” the lawyer added.
Kushitashvili and another boxer, Hovik Hovhannisyan, were detained by the Russian Guard on February 3 on suspicion of possession of drugs. During the detention, Kushitashvili hit one of the employees. During the search, cocaine was discovered in him. The court arrested Kushitashvili as a preventive measure.
