About twelve minutes into the first period between Anaheim and St. Louis abruptly canceled the match to never resume.

St. Louis defense veteran Jay Bouwmeester had then collapsed in the exchange box with heart problems and had to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Several Swedes were present at the Honda Center in Anaheim and witnessed the nasty scenes, including teammate Oskar Sundqvist who was injured and therefore found himself on the stands.

- I sat in the press box and this is the worst thing I've ever been to. I don't know what to say. We were all so damn scared and shocked, he tells SVT Sport.

St. Louis says in a press release that Bouwmeester suffered from heart problems, but is now conscious and awake. An update on his status is expected later this Wednesday.
