Nathalie Péchalat will be a candidate for the succession of Didier Gailhaguet at the head of the FFSG. - LAURENT VU / HAEDRICH JEAN-MARC / SIPA

After the resignation of Didier Gailhaguet from the presidency of the French Ice Sports Federation, following numerous revelations of sexual violence in the figure skating community, the FFSG will organize new elections on March 14.

With this in mind, L'Equipe revealed on Wednesday that the former French skating champion Nathalie Péchalat decided to run for Didier Gailhaguet. He was temporarily replaced by the President of the Federal Council Maryvonne Del Torchio.

The former European champion 2011 and 2012 is a member of the CNOSF Athletes' Commission. When the scandal broke out, Nathalie Péchalat was one of the many athletes who denounced the omerta on the subject of sexual violence in figure skating while calling for "giving voice" to the victims' denunciations.
