The tributes hail over stalwart Armand Duplantis after the new world record 6.17.

- It was a whirlwind of excitement to follow him today. The previous record has been around for so long and it is incredibly exciting to follow "Mondo" which has so much potential, Shawnacy Barber tells SVT Sport.

Bubka and Lavillenie pay tributeFrenchman Renaud Lavillenie - who had the previous record of 6.16 from February 2014 - has posted a picture in social media congratulating his "little brother" Duplantis on the record.
Legend Sergei Bubka tweets: “Fantastic! Congratulations to Armand and his parents. It is good for athletics to have such talents. Good luck in the future. Towards higher heights ”.
In the cloud round of Sweden's world record, rival Sam Kendrick's US indoor record with jumping 6.01 in French Rouen at a special stag jump gala with a built up track.
Afterwards he says goodbye to "Mondo" in social media.
- I can't think of anything better for this sport right now. If you are a fan of the sport, you just have to love this day.
