The Paralympic Museum opens in Tokyo Para on February 8 at 5:56

To deepen your understanding of the Tokyo Paralympic Games, the IPC (International Paralympic Committee) has set up a museum where you can learn about the history of the Paralympic Games and para-athletes.

The Paralympic Museum Tokyo 2020 is the first museum to be certified by the IPC and will be located at Coredo Muromachi Terrace, a commercial facility in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.

The museum will showcase the history that has evolved into the current Paralympic Games from the tournament that started in 1948 as a rehabilitation of people injured in the war at a British hospital, medals of successive tournaments, torch of the torch relay, tournament posters, etc. .

Also introduced are para-athletes called “legends” who have made many achievements.

The opening is about one month from August 25 to late September, when the Tokyo Paralympics begins, and admission is free.

IPC Chairman Andrew Parsons said, "I want visitors to know how the Paralympic Games have evolved in a relatively short period of time through exhibitions and have fun."
