IPC and Craig Spence, Chief of Public Affairs of the IPC, greeted a meeting that began in Tokyo on May 5 to check the status of preparations by the IPC and the Organizing Committee. "The IPC hopes to hold a wheelchair basketball at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. I hope that the Organizing Committee will prepare as planned," said Spence.

He said, "I would like the International Federation of Wheelchair Basketball to adhere to our responsibilities. He showed his intention to proceed with preparations while determining the response.

The IPC is calling for improvements on May 29, and the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation has indicated that it will take action as "all possible means".
