“The VFLA Athletes Commission supports the decision of the Presidium to resign and transfer all its powers to the current working group of the ROC. We believe this step is the only possible and very important for the return of Russian athletics to the world sports community. The commission expresses readiness for fruitful cooperation with the working group of the ROC and expects to invite its representative Radion Gataullin to its composition, ”reads the commission’s message on the Instagram page.
The working group of the Russian Olympic Committee (OCD) will work to restore the membership of the VFLA in the World Athletics Association.
Earlier, World Athletics announced that they expected a response from the VFLA and the Ministry of Sports in the Lysenko case before February 10.
