Johannes Hösflot Kläbo misses the World Cup in Falun, the sprint and the 15 km race. The reason is a broken finger, which the longtime star showed on social media on Monday.

"Unfortunately, I have had an accident and broke my finger ... I will not be able to start in Falun this weekend, but I really hope that I can be ready for Ski Tour 2020 (the competitions in Sweden and Norway later this month)" , he wrote about the accident on Instagram.

Now the Norwegian cross-country skier tells the reason for the finger fracture, on his video blog, writes NRK.

Kläbo was on his way home with three friends from a bowling alley when they stopped to hit a boxing machine, where you have to hit as hard as you can, and the harder the hit the more points you get. But the blows became costly and caused a broken finger.

"This was not good"

Kläbo explains on his video blog.

- I hit everything I can first and get the highest score and am super satisfied. Then I'll do it again. The only problem is that right next to the boxing machine there is another machine that is made of iron. Just as I hit, my hand slid off and hit the edge of the other machine with full force. I knew then that "this was not good, I'm afraid I broke my finger", and that was what also happened, says Kläbo.

On February 13, Johannes Hösflot Kläbo will undergo a new thorough medical examination.

Kläbo is second in the overall world cup and tops the sprint cup.
