Bayern Munich has to do without Ivan Perisic for at least a month. The attacker sustained a broken ankle during training on Tuesday.
Trainer Hansi Flick confirmed at a press conference that Perisic has an ankle fracture. The Croatian will have to recover for four weeks, only then can he resume training.
The 31-year-old Perisic sustained his injury in a tackle by teammate Álvaro Odriozola. "At first it didn't look that serious, but now it turns out to be a breach," said Flick.
Perisic, who played the World Cup final with Croatia in 2018, will be rented by Internazionale from Bayern this season. The winger played fifteen Bundesliga games and scored four goals.
Important duels ahead for Bayern
Flick has multiple injury concerns, because also attackers Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are not completely fit. In addition, Lucas Hernández, Javi Martínez and Niklas Süle are also missing due to injuries.
Important weeks start for 'Der Rekordmeister'. On Wednesday, the team will play at home against Hoffenheim in the DFB-Pokal. On Sunday, the league-leader in the Bundesliga will again play at home against close pursuer RB Leipzig and at the end of this month Bayern will visit Chelsea in the final game of the eighth finals in the Champions League.
