Angelica Bengtsson, who turned six at the Doha World Cup in September 2019, received her Olympic ticket on Friday. The Swedish Olympic Committee announced today six more names that will go to the Tokyo Olympics between July 24 and August 9.

- It's very nice to be selected so early, so you are absolutely sure to get there, says Angelica Bengtsson to SVT Sport.

She has done two competitions in Sweden this year, where she has managed 4.67 and 4.62.

- I started with the world's best year. It has started well and my goal is to be among the best throughout the year.

"Actually feels pretty nice"

Due to the corona virus, the indoor World Cup in athletics is postponed for a year. A message that Bengtsson appreciates.

- It actually feels pretty nice. Since the World Cup in Doha was so late, we lost many training weeks because of it. If we were to go to China, three weeks would disappear on time change and top up to the indoor World Cup. Now we win almost a month of training, it's just nice actually, says the 26-year-old.

How did you think about the corona virus?

- You have been more and more unsafe for each day, if you are going there at all. Then it has attracted more training weeks, at the same time as I was very tagged in going to the indoor World Cup for the season. I felt I had a good level and wanted a better position than the one I got in the World Cup (sixth place).

In the end a good message?

- Yes, I think so.
