With four minutes left of regular time, at the score 19-19, Spain's Raul Entrerrios Rodriguez was expelled. A difficult situation for the Spaniards when Croatia had picked up a four-goal sub in the second half.

Despite a man deported, Spain did 20-19. However, Croatia acknowledged immediately.

After the Spanish national team had become complete, the team scored two late goals. Alex Dusjhebaev, son of former major player Talant Dujshebaev, set the final score 22-20 with 25 seconds left of the European Championship final in Tele2 Arena in Stockholm.

Led the game with four points

Spain had a tight lead, 12-11, against Croatia after the first half. At the beginning of the second half, the Spaniards grabbed a four-goal lead, 16-12.

But the Croatian national team worked their way back into the match. With just under ten minutes left of regular time, the scoreboard showed 18-18. After that, Spain was the strongest.

Norway took the bronze medal after defeating Ljubomir Vranje's Slovenia by 28-20.
