The images are cold in the back, fortunately on arrival there is more fear than harm. During the fourth special of the WRC rally in Monte-Carlo on Friday, the Estonian world champion Ott Tänak and his co-driver Martin Järveola were victims of a frightening exit from the road, at more than 180 km / h.

On the side of the mountain, after a gap at the end of a curve, the Hunydai of the duo went into the background before hitting the ground violently and making several rolls in the air. The racing car finally stabilized several tens of meters below the track. Good news, the two pilots emerged unscathed from this accident.

"I hope Ott is doing well," said Ogier at the finish of the stage after passing the scene just after the accident. "It came out very quickly, there is a very strong compression where it came out," he said. "They are doing well," said Hyundai Sporting Director Andrea Adamo. I don't know what happened. You saw what I saw, I am waiting for them to come back but I was mainly concerned about their physical health ”.

If there is not a lot of snow on the rally roads, the ice patches make the course difficult since the start of the event on Thursday evening. Several drivers have already been forced to retire at the end of the road, including the British driver Gus Greensmith (M-Sport Ford).
