As usual, Sandra Näslund is one of the favorites when it is time for world cup competitions in ski cross. This weekend's races are run in Idre and she is loaded to compete at home.

- It will be fun to get started, she tells SVT Sport.

Special course

There are competitions both Saturday and Sunday. The path they will take becomes special. It contains 56 features, which are the jumps and scrolls available. It is an unofficial world record on a number of features.

- It feels in your legs when you come down. It's important to always hit well to get the highest speed possible, says Näslund.

The weather has already set in and Thursday's qualification was moved to today, Friday. This means that they run two qualifiers on the same day.

- It is important to be able to change, whether it is good or bad in the first qualification. But we didn't have training on Wednesday but did so yesterday so the conditions are the same, says Näslund.

The pallet that applies

Seven competitions have been run so far in the World Cup. Näslund has been on the podium in six of them and stood at the top twice. She leads the overall World Cup ahead of the weekend with 79 points ahead of Fanny Smith and 101 points ahead of third Marielle Thompson.

- It's been a really good season so far. There have been some individual mistakes that have made me not even higher up on the podium, she says.

The goal of this weekend's competitions is clear.

- I'm going up to the podium, preferably at the top. It's just gas and driving.
