It was an intense and dramatic competition that the large, sun-drenched audience could see. To their great delight, homeowner Matthias Mayer took the lead. That despite being close to falling right at the start.

- The cheer is deafening. An Austrian who delivers, said Ejeborg.

Shortly thereafter, Aleksander Aamodt Source came in at exactly the same time as Mayer and many thought it would be a shared victory.

But then it was Jansrud's turn to show class. The 34-year-old didn't stand for a perfect ride, but the pace took him to the finish 16 hundredths ahead of the duo.

- Good ride, really good, said SVT Sports expert commentator Pernilla Wiberg.

The victory was Jansrud's first in the World Cup in over a year and the first overall since the Åre World Cup in February 2019.

Alexander Köll was just over 2.5 seconds from the winner.

The competition is ongoing.
