The Egyptian Football Association decided to stop the international referee Jihad Greisha because of his objection to placing him in the third place in the international list of referees, which will, according to him, cause him to be excluded from arbitration in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Grisha, 43, posted on his official Facebook page a post containing a picture of a complaint he submitted to the federation, commenting on it by saying, "Not to run for the 2022 World Cup by an act of action," noting that whoever transferred him from the first position that he occupied for years in the international list is The reason for his exclusion from the World Cup.

The rulers committee headed by Jamal Al-Ghandour placed Ibrahim Ibrahim al-Din at the top of the international list instead of Grisha, followed by Amin Omar, which Grisha described as a blatant and clear courtesy of a ruling that was threatened with exclusion from the international list for technical reasons.

Grisha said in statements to one of the programs on a local channel that his delay in the list would cause him not to participate in the World Cup, and that the International Federation and African Football Association officials told him that he would not be among the World Cup referees, given his presence at the third rank in the international list among the referees of his country.

Grisha added that when he asked Al-Ghandour, the current Chairman of the Referees Committee, he told him that Issam Abdel-Fattah (the former Chairman of the Committee) was the one who made the arrangement, and when he asked Abdel-Fattah he said that Ghandour is responsible.

Al-Ghandour responded to Grisha's statements that he refuses to go down to the level of response to a ruling, stressing that Grisha will be investigated because of what he posted on Facebook and his TV statements without the prior permission of the Referees Committee.

It is noteworthy that Grisha is the first referee in Egypt for years, and he was among the referees of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. He also participated in five championships for African nations and the Olympic Games, in addition to many African finals, the last of which was the departure of the African Champions League last year between Wydad Casablanca and Tunisia's Esperance.
