The reigning champions Arsenal have shown great form lately. They topped for tonight's grand meet with the Chelsea series and had eight straight series wins, with the impressive goal difference of 27-2.

But against the Chelsea series, they did not have the shade of a chance. Chelsea already took the lead in the 10th minute through former Gothenburg player Adelina Engman, who from the right part of the penalty area put a well-placed shot at the far post.

Kerr nodded in second

Only three minutes later it was time again. On a high-quality post from Norwegian Guro Reiten, world star Sam Kerr put a nod at the far post and gave Chelsea 2-0.

And in the 20th minute it was time again. On a free-kick, Chelsea's captain Magdalena erased the Arsenal defense so much that their nod away from the penalty area went straight to Sophie Ingle who put on a magnificent half volley 3-0 straight into the cross.

Get Arsenal chances

3-0 stood out, and the result was quite fair. Chelsea dominated the half completely, and nothing indicated that Arsenal would reverse the match.

They didn't do that. In the second half, the series leaders had a lot of ball, but basically created no chances.

Instead, it was Chelsea who increased to 4-0, after the Swedish defender Jonna Andersson put a fine post that Sam Kerr at the penalty point nodded in the cross.

Chelsea finally won by 4-1, after Beth Mead reduced the 74th minute after a magnificent goalkeeper

With the loss, Arsenal loses the series lead to Manchester City, which has two goals better goal difference. Chelsea remain in third place, one point after the tight duo, but with fewer matches played.
