The previous efforts in the women's biathlon in Ruhpolding had given Hanna Öberg a good starting position as second in the chase. But despite the subsequent Swedes being behind the top ten, there were three Swedes in the top five in the end.
After a great drama with fine Swedish shooting, Johanna Skottheim and Linn Persson quickly climbed the field, finishing four and five respectively. Just behind Hanna Öberg who took third place.
