For the Swedish side, the men's hunting starts have long been quite undramatic.

They started far behind in the field (Daniel Rickardsson started first, 25th, 2.17.7 after Alexander Bolshunov) and none of them were close to interfere in the top match.

Lost balance

And given how heavy it was for the entire Swedish team over the weekend, it was quite symptomatic what happened with a few kilometers left to go. Then, in a downward curve, Jens Burman dropped the balance and fell straight into the safety net that was down at the trench.

Burman, however, rose quickly, with a stated smile and fought on in the race.

Halfvarsson is the best Swedish

He eventually finished in 34th place.

Best Swedish was Calle Halfvarsson, who advanced from 33rd to 19th place, 2.55 behind victorious Alexander Bolshunov. Daniel Richardsson also advanced, to place 22.

- It is hoped that they are moving up from quite a sad situation, says SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist.

In the lead, Bolshunov was completely superior. In goal he was just over 46 seconds ahead of Johannes Hösflot Kläbo. Kläbo won a sprint fight against two Norwegian compatriots: Simen Hegstad Krüger and Sjur Röthe.
