Nobody was close to threatening Bolshunov, the overall winner of the Tour de Ski, who thus won the first distance race after the prestigious competition.

- You usually talk about the Tour de Ski tearing up and the shape folding afterwards, but Bolshunov shows that it does not have to be so, says SVT expert Anders Blomquist.

The Russian was 24.3 seconds ahead of the second Iivo Niskanen from Finland. The Niskanen slept nicely for tomorrow because today's race is the basis for a classic style hunting start.

"Far from approved"

For the Swedish gentlemen, it was a night-black day in Nove Mesto. Daniel Richardsson became the best Swedish in 26th place, almost two and a half minutes behind Bolshunov.

- As a Swedish team effort, it is far from being approved. This is not how it should look. Without knowing, I think the skis are an explanation, says SVT's expert commentator Anders Blomquist.

In the studio, Mathias Fredriksson agreed with the criticism:

- It is a very weak effort. The consequence is whether the skis were competitive and I don't think so. They must have missed with the structure, for example.

- Exactly what is wrong is impossible to say from the TV couch, but so far they should not be. Not everyone. Of course, it is a poppy miss.

"Worse skiing this season"

Fredriksson was also asked if he could evaluate the whaling team's season so far.

- Without having been in any competition, it feels like the skis are worse than before. They have not been as fast as we are used to from previous seasons. Ebba Andersson, for example, was surprised today because she was so far behind. I think Sweden has missed out on the skis, he says.
