The Montpellier football club (MHSC) is recruiting. The MHSC has indeed engaged the South Korean international striker Yun Il-lok, free of any contract, announced Friday the club Hérault. The duration of the contract, however, was not specified.

A second choice

This 27-year-old international center-forward (8 caps) (1m78, 70 kg) has been playing at Yokohama Marinos (Japan) since 2018 after playing for four seasons at FC Seoul (2013-2017). Last season, he was loaned to the South Korean club Jeju United where he scored 11 goals. Yun Il-lok is the second Asian player to wear the colors of the Hérault club after the Japanese Nozomi Hiroyama (2003-2004).

It is not, however, the first choice for Montpellier. The club initially had as a priority to hire the Ivorian international Roger Assalé (26, 20 caps), but negotiations with the Youngs Boys Berne (Switzerland) were unsuccessful. Montpellier, who will receive Caen (L2) in the 16th final of the Coupe de France on Sunday, occupies 6th place in Ligue 1 at the end of the 20th day.
