Djurgården's home game against the football all-Swedish newcomer Varberg will be played at Stockholm Stadium.

This is announced by the Swedish champion club in a press release.

- We are the only Swedish association in Stockholm that has our old arena still, so it will be extremely special to play an all-Swedish match at Stadion, says Bosse Andersson, sports manager.

The reason for the temporary return to the Olympic Stadium in Östermalm is an unusually compressed game schedule in the Allsvenskan, and that Tele2 arena, which the team shares with rival Hammarby since 2013, is booked for other events.

The meeting between Djurgården and Varberg will thus be played on natural ground instead of artificial grass with an audience capacity of 14,000 spectators. The match is scheduled for either September 23 or September 24.
