Today, FC Barcelona officially presented its new coach, Kiki Cetian, to the media during a press conference held at the club's headquarters in Barcelona. The president of the club, Joseph Bartomeu, attended the conference, along with French sports director Eric Abidal. The club disclosed that Citian had contract until June 2022, without indicating whether or not the extension could be extended. Meanwhile, the club has officially ended the talk about the possibility of hiring its former star Xavi Hernandez, as well as Italian coach Massimiliano Alegre.
Cetian replaces former coach Ernesto Valverde, who was the last Saudi Superstar in the last decade with the team, losing 3-2 to Atletico Madrid.
Cetian, 61, is the last coach to beat Barcelona at his home in La Liga in 2018, when he was technical director of Real Betis. Cetian has previously played for Atletico Madrid, as well as Racing Santander.
