With Fredrik Styrman on the injury list, Luleå chooses to pick in Frenchman, Yohann Auvitu, who as late as two years ago represented Edmonton in 33 games in the NHL. The 30-year-old has played in the Finnish high school for much of his career and has a total of 58 appearances in the NHL.

- It feels exciting that Yohann will join the team before the conclusion of the basic series and the subsequent SM playoffs. He is a seasoned two-way back who, once he is in everything, will be able to play both numerical upper and lower positions, says Luleå's general manager, Stefan Nilsson to the club's website.

Yohann Auvitu played for HK Sotji in KHL last year but has yet to play any matches during the current season.

- He was operated on almost a year ago and has not played any matches since then. So we will give him time to catch up and get into both match tempo and our game. We think long term with him and feel that this is a great chance for both Luleå Hockey and for him to end the season together.
