There are numbers that bring bad luck. For the northern pilot Adrien Van Beveren, it would seem to be "3". Engaged on the Dakar, in Saudi Arabia, the biker made, on Tuesday, a terrible fall during the third stage of the famous rally-raid.

Three days after celebrating his 29th birthday, Adrien Van Beveren took off on Tuesday for Special # 3 of the Dakar, a 427 km loop, riding his Yamaha. But after only three kilometers of racing, the northerner had a terrible fall. Aware, the Frenchman was quickly taken care of by medical teams and evacuated by helicopter. On Twitter, he mentions a "trauma to the right shoulder". however, he will not be riding in this edition.

Three dropouts three years in a row

It is therefore the third consecutive year that Adrien Van Beveren has been forced to give up on the Dakar. In 2018, he had a heavy fall after hitting a stone, ending up with a punctured lung and broken collarbone. The following year, it was the engine of his motorcycle that failed, forcing him to throw in the towel.

But the "3" was not always a cursed number for the northern biker. This is in fact the number of times that it has won the Enduropale du Touquet consecutively, in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
