Liverpool's Senegalese international striker Sadio Mane on Tuesday formally crowned the 2019 African Player of the Year award.

Mani, 27, received the award at the annual CAF Awards held in Sahl Hasheesh, Hurghada, Egypt.

Mane outperformed Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, his colleague in the Liverpool and Algerian attack, Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez, who reached with him to the final list of candidates for the award.

Salah was crowned the award in the previous two years 2017 and 2018, while Mehrez was crowned with one previous time in 2016, while Manny crowned her today for the first time in his football career.
