The Ligue 2 meeting between Guingamp and Lens initially scheduled for Saturday 11 January in Brittany has been postponed by a week, the League announced on Monday midday, three days after the accidental death of the young Guingamp striker Nathaël Julan.

"At the request of the EA Guingamp club and in agreement with the RC Lens club and the broadcasters, the meeting between EA Guingamp and RC Lens, originally scheduled for Saturday 11 January 2020 at 3 p.m., has been rescheduled by the LFP Competitions Commission on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 6.30 pm, "said the LFP in a press release.

Due to the tragedy that affected the Breton club, the friendly match scheduled for last Saturday between Guingamp and Concarneau has been canceled. A minute of silence or applause was also observed before each Coupe de France match this weekend.

A high speed exit from the road

Nathaël Julan, 23, died Friday afternoon in a road accident. According to the Côtes d'Armor Departmental Fire and Rescue Operational Center, his car left the roadway when it was traveling on an expressway in Pordic, near Saint-Brieuc, and struck a tree at high speed.

Trained in Le Havre (Ligue 2), the young man had signed his first professional contract there in 2016, before committing to Guingamp in January 2018. Last winter, he had been loaned for the end of the season in Valenciennes ( League 2).
