Al-Ahly's Contracting Director, Amir Tawfiq, confirmed that the club has not entered into negotiations yet with Syrian Omar Al-Soma, the star of the Saudi Ahly Jeddah soccer team.

Amir Tawfiq said in exclusive statements to German News Agency today, Sunday: "There are currently no negotiations with Omar Somma or his club."

He added that Somma is a good player and possesses great capabilities. If the technical staff led by Swiss Rene Vyler settles to negotiate with him, and if the Planning Committee gives us the green light, I will start immediately, but so far there is nothing.

Tawfiq's statement came in response to some press reports today, Sunday, that Somma entered the accounts of Al-Ahly of Egypt to contract him during the winter transfers.

Al-Ahly, who won the Egyptian league title in the last four seasons, is seeking to support its offensive line in light of the decline in the level of its Moroccan professional, Walid Azzaro and the Egyptian international striker Marouane Mohsen.
