Russia has mixed and given in the group play. Something that wasn't right is powerplay - but it loosened up nicely in the quarterfinals against Switzerland.

With three goals in four matches, only Kazakhstan was worse. In the meeting with Switzerland, Russia switched twice, which became directly crucial for Russia, which was one of the big favorites before the tournament, to reach the semi-finals.

Sweden is best ranked

The recipe is spelled Dmitri Voronkov, Grigori Denisenko and Alexander Khovanov. Both at 1-0 and 3-1 it was Voronkov who scored, both times in numerical position. First played by Denisenko and then Khovanov. 2-0 was made by Khovanov, played by Denisenko.

The victory means that Russia is the most likely opposition for Sweden in a possible semi-final. The best ranked team from the group stage meets the lowest ranked. Sweden is the best ranked and as long as Canada beats Slovakia in its quarter, Russia is the worst ranked.

Sweden's quarterfinals will be played tonight starting 19.45 in SVT2.
