The New York Rangers' last game of the 2010s certainly became a roller coaster.

The team started the game in a very weak way, and was down 0-6 with barely 25 minutes left to play.

Powerful pickup

Then goalkeeper Alex Georgiev, after breaking the club against the goal cage, was replaced and replaced by Henrik Ludnqvist.

Then the New York Rangers began a pickup that almost resulted in the most powerful turn in NHL history.

Yamamoto netted

But just like that. While the team scored five straight goals, it was not enough to become the first team in NHL history to turn a six-goal sub. For the last goal of the match, Edmonton's Kailer Yamamoto was scored in the open goal cage.

Thus, the Rangers ended 2019 with a loss, but in the team saw positive things afterwards.

- We showed some things that we will need in the future. But we can not assume that it is not possible to start a match that way. But we have to build on the final stage of the match, said coach David Quinn, according to the New York Post.

"Many good things"

Swedish Mika Zibanejad, who after going free in the middle zone sat 2–4 after a fine shot 17 minutes into the second period, was on the same track:

- You can't start a hockey match this way and end up in that disadvantage. But I think we showed what character we have at this point. Sure, they probably stopped playing when they led by 6-0. But we did a lot of good things and didn't give them any real goal chances, he said according to the New York Post.

- It really sucks to lose. But we bring with us the third period.

"Really good"

For Edmonton, victory was the team's first on a New Year's Eve since 1985, after 17 straight games without victory.

- The first two periods were really good, and we were really good at powerplay and boxplay. I really liked the way we started the game. Then we got a little sloppy in the third period, says three-goal shooter James Neal, according to the Edmonton Journal.
