It was a match at changing game takeovers. HV71 started strongest and Niklas Rubin in the Frölundakassen had a sweaty first period with many qualified rescues. Although the home team led the game in the beginning, it was probably Frölunda who had the hottest chance in the first when Rhett Rakhshani was released in front of goal. But the American got time short and sent the puck outside.

"I didn't really get the body right and was a bit surprised that I got the position," said Rhakhshani in C More during the period break.

Frölunda took over in the second and had 14-4 in the shot statistics after 40 minutes played, but it would take a while before the Gothenburgers were awarded. Early in the third, Teodor Lennström took shots from the blue and Joel Mustonen was there with a club blade and directed a management goal.

Quick receipt

The receipt would not be delayed and again it was a Finn who was in the minutes. Jusso Ikonen found a gap behind talented Niklas Rubin and thus broke a 13-match-long goal drought.

At the end of the regular time, HV71 had more than enough chances to decide the match with Niklas Rubin's pallet. Instead, it was Rhett Rakhshani who revenged on the missed opportunity in the first period. With just over three minutes left of the match, Johan Sundström found a completely released Rakhshani in the castle and Frölunda's number 49 first hit the bar with a quick finish. However, Rakhshani had flown and on his way out after the ribbing hit took the puck in the back of Jonas Gunnarsson and it also became the decisive 2-1 goal. The American big match hero along with Rubin in the goal who saved 25 shots in the away win.

- Of course fun to decide. Feels like we've found our way back to our game after a tough period. We didn't play well in the first but in the second and third I really thought we were getting started, Rakhshani told C More after the match.
